Furnace problems we see most

  • Blower runs but the air is cold. Ignition failure, a dirty flame sensor, a gas supply issue, or a tripped limit switch.
  • Furnace tries to start, then shuts down. Often a flame sensor that needs cleaning, a failing igniter, or a pressure switch fault.
  • Short cycling. Overheating from restricted airflow (frequently a clogged filter) or a thermostat issue.
  • Inducer motor noise or venting faults. A failing inducer, or a blocked vent or condensate line on a high-efficiency furnace.
  • Blinking control board light. A fault code that tells us where to start looking.
  • Weak airflow or uneven heat. Blower, filter, or duct problems.

What we check on a heating call

Depending on the symptom, a furnace visit covers the ignition sequence, inducer, and pressure switches; flame sensor cleaning and testing; a visual inspection of the heat exchanger; gas pressure into and out of the gas valve; electrical connections and safety devices; and thermostat operation. If something isn’t safe to run, we’ll show you what we found and explain your options.

If you smell gas, leave the house first and call your gas utility or 911 from outside, then call us.

Want to avoid a no-heat call in the first place? Our $79 Fall Safety Check runs through October 31, 2026, and the $79 counts toward the Wright Way Maintenance Plan, which includes a fall heating tune-up every year. If your furnace is near the end of its life, ask about a free quote on a new system or a heat pump.

Our regular hours are Monday–Friday, 7 AM to 8 PM. On weekends we take emergency calls and pre-scheduled maintenance and service calls only.
